Le notizie negative sulle statine portano alcune persone a interrompere il trattamento, scelta associata ad aumento del rischio di infarto miocardico e di morte per malattie cardiache

Un gruppo di ricercatori in Danimarca ha scoperto che le notizie negative sulle statine, anche noti come farmaci ipocolesterolemizzanti, inducono alcune persone a interrompere il trattamento con questi farmaci, scelta che, di conseguenza, è associata a un aumentato rischio di infarto miocardico e morte per malattie cardiache.

Lo studio, pubblicato su European Heart Journal ( EHJ ), ha dimostrato che per ogni notizia negativa diffusa a livello nazionale relativa al gruppo dei farmaci ipocolesterolemizzanti, vi è un rischio aumentato del 9% che le persone decidano di interrompere l’assunzione di statine entro sei mesi dalla prima prescrizione del farmaco.
